Emma Walsh is the founder of The Literary Professionals, a boutique literary services agency that provides a range of unparalleled services for writers and professionals involved in the book and publishing industry.
Emma has worked in the industry for 20 years in many guises; as a literary festival director, book publicist, marketing manager, pre-reader, literary agent, writer, book reviewer, programme manager and sponsorship portfolio manager.
One of the early committee members of The Society of Publishers in Ireland and an Associate Member of The Irish Book Publishers’ Association, Emma has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy, a Master of Arts in American Literature and Modern English (both from University College Dublin) and an IAPI Diploma in Advertising.
Over the past four years Emma developed and managed a portfolio of literary sponsorships for Bord Gais Energy. These included: The Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards, Bookshop of the Year Award, the Book Club on Ireland AM and the BGE book club.
Emma is a regular contributor to print, radio and television on topics related to books and publishing and gives talks and workshops on various industry-related subjects throughout the country.
